Boebert challenger Adam Frisch hauls in more than $500K within days of launching 2024 bid
Adam Frisch, the Democrat vying for a 2024 rematch against U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, raised more than $500,000 within three days of announcing his candidacy last week in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, his campaign said. The former Aspen City Council member has received more than 15,000 individual donations since making his campaign official on Feb. 14, his campaign told Colorado Politics on Tuesday. That total includes donors from all 50 states and all 27 counties in the sprawling district, which covers most of the Western Slope, Pueblo County and Southern Colorado, a campaign spokeswoman said. The Silt Republican defeated Frisch for a second term in the closest congressional race in the county last year, prevailing by 546 votes out of more than 325,000 ballots cast, for a margin of just over 1/10th of a percentage point.

Man Who Lost Narrow Race to Lauren Boebert Plots Redemption Run
On this week’s episode of The New Abnormal, Adam Frisch claims that while Boebert may have snagged the election by a slim margin of 546 votes, “she’s not focused on the job and she’s focused on herself.” He says this time around, he has been given the gift of time, and while he says he’s sticking “with the same plan” as last time, “the better thing is, is that we just have a lot more time… to get out there and have a chance to meet people and realize I’m a normal human being that truly cares and connects with, I think better than the alternative, the current alternative, when it comes to the them and their families and their businesses and their communities.
Initial House Ratings: Battle for Majority Starts as a Toss-up
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R, CO-3), an in-your-face conservative who only barely won in a clearly GOP-leaning district in western Colorado, has not moderated her behavior at all in the aftermath of her near-loss. But observers on both sides of the aisle think she should be favored anyway because a more engaged and larger 2024 presidential electorate could help her stabilize her vote. This is something we sometimes hear from operatives: Near-miss upsets can occur precisely because a race isn’t heavily engaged with national money, perhaps lulling an incumbent (and maybe even voters themselves) into a false sense of security.

Ohio train derailment: Lauren Boebert slams Buttigieg for being ‘absent on the job’
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) slammed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Wednesday for being “absent on the job” following a train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, earlier this month. Boebert claimed that Buttigieg’s admission that he should have spoken out sooner about the train derailment in Ohio “fell flat” and that the former mayor-turned-Cabinet secretary has been absent on his job. “This excuse falls completely flat. Pete is absent on the job and has been from day one,” Boebert tweeted in response to a Breitbart article.

Ahead of invasion anniversary, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz introduces ‘Ukraine Fatigue’ resolution–matt-gatez-introduces–ukraine-fatigue–bill-to-cut-country-s-aid
Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla, a leader of a small but vocal wing of isolationist Republicans in the House, has introduced a “Ukraine Fatigue” resolution seeking to end “military and financial aid” to Ukraine. “We must suspend all foreign aid for the War in Ukraine and demand that all combatants in this conflict reach a peace agreement immediately,” Gaetz said in a statement. The measure is co-sponsored by 10 other House Republicans, including fellow Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, and conservative Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., and Thomas Massie, R-Ky.
Republicans unveil effort to remove Biden admin’s barriers blocking oil and gas drilling
House Republicans introduced legislation Wednesday that they said would remove barriers slowing down oil and gas permitting on federal lands and, as a result, lead to lower gasoline prices for Americans. The American Energy Act — which was introduced by Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., and cosponsored by 12 fellow Republicans — is designed to give energy companies increased certainty in the federal permitting process for oil and gas drilling in an effort to boost production and lower energy prices. Boebert said her bill would counter efforts from the Biden administration to introduce red tape and stifle production.

Boebert sets sights on Twitter, FBI
A day after grilling three former top executives for Twitter, U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert introduced a bill Thursday temporarily barring the FBI from paying social media platforms and to audit all federal money paid to tech companies. The Silt Republican is calling her bill the Elon Act, which isn’t named after Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter who has released internal company files in relation to Hunter Biden’s laptop and allegations that the FBI paid Twitter to block a New York Post news story about President Joe Biden’s son. The bill’s official name is Exposing Lewd Outlays for social Networking companies.

Lauren Boebert Tried To Throw Shade At Rachel Maddow And Got A Stark Reminder
A tweet from Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) criticizing the Biden White House got flipped back on her late Tuesday. “Most of the Biden Regime learned about governing from watching (MSNBC anchor) Rachel Maddow and it really shows,” wrote the far-right congresswoman. Critics reminded Boebert how Donald Trump’s administration, of which she was a huge fan, was at times almost in lockstep with Fox News personalities such as Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.

Raise your hand if you’re old enough to remember who was president in 2020, when schools were closed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was torn apart on Twitter after she seemed to forget that detail in a tweet about President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday. “Hey Joe, YOU CLOSED THEM!” she tweeted, citing a line from Biden’s speech in which he said: “In the midst of the COVID crisis, when schools were closed and we were shutting down everything, let’s recognize how far we came in the fight against the pandemic itself.”

Rep. Boebert suggests God used her to stand up to McCarthy
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) suggested that God used her to stand up to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), whom she indirectly referred to as one of her “demons,” while speaking at a women’s conference at a Dallas church over the weekend. “Ladies … God is using you in mighty ways,” she told a crowd of what appeared to be mostly women, according to clips of her remarks posted by PatriotTakes, a liberal PAC. Boebert was a featured speaker at the SALT Conference at Storehouse Dallas, which aims to provide “spiritual and leadership training to equip an army of women to awaken culture with the truth and love of Jesus.” “Maybe he’ll have you ball up your fists and stand in front of some demons — maybe a speaker of the House?” Boebert added, to laughter and a standing ovation from those in the audience.
Adam Frisch will run again to unseat Lauren Boebert in 2024
Democrat Adam Frisch, a former Aspen city councilman who narrowly lost his bid in November to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, will run again to represent the 3rd Congressional District in 2024. “November’s election results show us that Boebert is weak and will be defeated, which is why I have decided to launch my 2024 congressional campaign,” Frisch said in a written statement. Frisch had already filed paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission to run against Boebert next year. His formal campaign announcement kicks off what’s likely to be one of the nation’s most closely watched congressional contests.
